Cosmetic Braces
Ceramic & Metal

Invisalign® & Invisalign® Teen

Over the years, traditional braces have come a long way. They are now sleeker, smaller and more comfortable and less visible. Straight teeth are healthier teeth. Crooked or crowded teeth make it more difficult to properly clean your teeth, increasing the risk of problems such as tooth decay and gum disease.

Cosmetic braces are able to correct crooked and crowded teeth, misaligned bite, jaw problems and can eliminate problems with eating, speaking properly and keeping teeth clean.

Saacks Orthodontics offer both standard metal braces and ceramic “invisible” braces.

Metal braces - the more cost effective option.

Traditional metal braces are the most well known orthodontic treatment for a reason; they have been successful at treating misaligned teeth for years.

At Saacks Orthodontics, we use state of the art bracket system, which is customized to each individual patient to provide faster results with fewer appointments and less treatment time for patient comfort.

Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and arch-wires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding coloured elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colourful smile.

How do traditional braces work?

Traditional metal braces place pressure on the teeth to move them into their final desired position. They are often the cheapest and fastest treatment option to straighten teeth effectively.

Traditional braces can also be combined with other specialist orthodontic devices to correct jaw alignment and spacing issues.

Pros and cons of metal braces

Strong and durable

Given the strength of the materials involved, metal braces are highly durable and offer excellent control. The downside of this is that metal braces are more likely to cause discomfort, while the materials also – inevitably – leave you with a metallic taste in your mouth.

Much more noticeable

Just as the cost is the most obvious downside of ceramic braces, there’s no avoiding the aesthetic impact of metal braces – they’re just very noticeable. However, they are smaller and more comfortable than they used to be, and you’ll generally be offered a range of color options for the bands that secure the wires to the brackets.

Less likely to show discoloration

As they’re made from darker materials, metal braces are less likely to become discolored. This can be an issue with ceramic braces, although it can be overcome through brushing after every meal, using floss and mouthwash, and cutting out red and yellow-colored foods like mustard and tomatoes.

Harder to clean

Given their chunkier size, metal braces make it harder for you to maintain good oral health. In extreme circumstances, or if left unchecked, this can lead to complications such as gum disease and gum recession.

Cost Effective

Ceramic invisible braces - the discreet orthodontic option.

Saacks Orthodontics use the progressive teeth straightening option Invisalign®. Invisalign® was designed to discreetly but effectively straighten a patient’s teeth.

By using custom made, removable aligners, we can straighten your teeth gradually, and very specifically. These aligners are so discreet no one will know you’re undergoing orthodontic treatment – unless you tell them, that is.

Invisalign® also has an option for our teenage patients called Invisalign® Teen. We have ensured this treatment is comfortable, still discreet and keeps their oral health and hygiene is pristine condition.

Today, Invisalign® has reshaped over 4 million smiles worldwide, so it’s no wonder its one of the most popular orthodontic treatments.

How much do braces cost?

The cost of treatment will depend on whether you choose metal braces or ceramic braces as well as the length of treatment. Because each of our patients presents a unique orthodontic case, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. That’s why it’s important to come in for a free no-obligation consultation to find out if you need braces or not. Saacks Orthodontics offer payment plans to help make getting the orthodontic treatment you need affordable.

How long does treatment take?

The length of treatment depends on the health of your teeth and jaws. For some patients, treatment can be completed in 6 months, and in—more extreme cases—it can take up to three years.
