Our patients are instructed at their first appointment to check-in, and seat themselves in our waiting area. We know your time is valuable and it will never be spent waiting for you or your child’s adjustment appointment. You had me at hello… ensuring service from the start

At Saacks Orthodontics we get excited about meeting new patients, which is why we make everyone’s first visit extra special. Your initial appointment will first consist of a thorough examination of your mouth and your dental condition. Then a discussion of potential treatment options will occur to get a better understanding of the best treatment for you.

Your first appointment should last for approximately one hour and will give us an `insight’ into your orthodontic needs. We understand that your time is valuable, so to ensure your treatment is executed quickly, we may also reserve time following the assessment for diagnostic records. These records include X-rays, photos and impressions for study models and are necessary for developing the appropriate treatment plan.

Many of our patients are adolescents to young adults, which is why we do our best to keep you teenagers comfortable and relaxed. We offer some fun things to keep them busy while at our office:

• Sony PlayStation 3– we offer video games to help our patients enjoy their visit.
• Time-wasters– we have toys, books and magazines that are available for your kid’s enjoyment.

We understand that the duration of some treatments can make them somewhat monotonous, however deciding to get involved in the treatment program can make your treatment feel quick and fun. Here are some fun ideas we suggest to make you orthodontic checkups and treatment more exciting:

• It’s all about colour– we have an array of coloured elastics, so you can experiment with a new look at each adjustment appointment. We find a lot of our young patients like to decorate according to the season (possibly black and orange for Halloween next month?) or their favourite colours.
• Retainers– get colourful with your retainers also, we have an array of colours and styles are offered to each patient at the end of your orthodontic treatment.
